Oh no, he’s at it again! This January, RATS is bringing you a hilarious, heartwarming twist on a Christmas classic with our brand-new pantomime, "The Grouch Who Stole Christmas"!
Packed with laughs, cheeky twists, and plenty of audience participation (oh yes it is!), this traditional pantomime reimagines the story you know and love, with all the sparkle and charm that only RATS can deliver.
Every year, the Grouch’s annoyance reaches its peak during Christmastime, when his boisterous neighbours in Addlestone transform their tranquil town into a cacophony of lights, laughter, and endless festivities. The WHO’s, an exuberant bunch, have an uncanny knack for making the holiday season louder, brighter, and merrier with each passing year. This year, they’ve outdone themselves, determined to create the most extravagant Christmas celebration yet.
For the perpetually irritable Grouch, their unrelenting cheer is the ultimate source of aggravation. Fed up with the endless noise and sparkling displays, he concocts a devious plan to restore peace and quiet to his world. Enlisting the help of his loyal, if somewhat bumbling, sidekicks, the scheming green grump devises an audacious plot: he will disguise himself as Santa Claus, sneak into the Whos' homes, and steal Christmas right out from under their noses.
As his mischievous plan unfolds, it becomes clear that his aim isn’t just to swipe presents and decorations—it’s to extinguish the Whos’ joy and silence their holiday spirit once and for all. But just when it seems the Grouch might succeed, a twist emerges. The magical fairies of Addlestone, protectors of holiday harmony, discover his plan. With their unique powers and unyielding determination, they set out to save Christmas and remind everyone, even the Grouch, of the true meaning of the season.
